Artist Statement

Surface Tension explores the notion of fixed versus fleeting, with the raised tucks revealing a secondary pattern of shadows that shift with the changing light, with the subtle fluctuations in our perception of color resulting from the fabric’s differing warp and weft, with the precarious arrangement of the patchwork blocks themselves.
